MySpace – Bands Can Sell Their Music

David Card wrote some great thoughts on the new MySpace feature for artists to sell their songs online.
I think he is right, it will be hard to make serious money in the first phase, but I’m sure MySpace has a strong position on the digital music market. At my point of view a much stronger position than Amazon and any of the “Wal Marts”. Discovering music in a social network is very valueable. The premise is that the shop, the buying experience and service features are as good enough as the competition. ITunes is still the benchmark. Otherwise the MySpace user will take their songs for free, as most of them do it now.
