Music as an Add On to Tickets

Ticketmaster announced an offer, that with every concert ticket purchased online at, Ticketmaster is providing a complimentary ten-song digital music sampler showcasing a variety of emerging and established artists at iTunes.

Here again digital content is used as an “add on” for selling services or analog goods. After all the CocaCola/Pepsi/iTunes cooperations is this nothing new.
Funny here, that just a few years ago the artists were touring to push the album sales, now its the other way round.

The value of “digital recorded music” has obviously changed.
